I’m Still A Part of the Vancouver Blogger (Alumni) Group
This is cool. I haven’t really blogged so much since my blognation Japan gig (really need to bring things up to speed publicly regarding THAT ONE!) but I came across a number of articles recently referring to a “Vancouver Blogger” war. Huh?
It seems a number of bloggers have been spurred on by Jonathon Narvey in achieving top Google rank (or SEO as it is referred to in the west) for the words “Vancouver Blogger”. I did play with SEO a few years ago on my blog (though not specifically to achieve top spot with THESE words) and was surprised to learn things are still ranking pretty good and one of my articles, an interview with Isabella Mori, a good friend, client and outstanding leader of the Vancouver Bloggers Meetup, brought me into the race as a contender.. without even knowing it. Uh, cool I guess.
The whole “race” part is now on as the Northern Voice 2008 conference nears and each blogger attempts to throw the words “Vancouver Blogger” in enough posts and enough meta tags to hopefully have the Google spider push them a little higher. Fun.
If I stay on the front page of Google with that one article, cool. If not, I’m still totally OK with it. I’m kinda rooting for Jonathon though. I think he has a GREAT Vancouver based blog and is the most worthy of the title. Go Jonathon!
